Old age is said to be a time for honour, dignity and respect.  Unfortunately, that is not the experience of many seniors.  Elder abuse is a complex issue that, slowly, is gaining the attention it deserves.  Jennifer Jackson, who is a founding member of the Waterloo Region Committee on Elder Abuse and the current Education Chair, will reflect on this issue today.
