A MESSAGE OF L0VE
Chattar Ahuja
Service Leader: Kristen Wilson
Music: Rosemarie Harris
Many of us, during the spring Building Bridges visits, were amazed at the common message of universalism between our faith and that of Sikhism. We are graced this morning to host Chattar, of the Golden Triangle Sikh Association and Interfaith Grand River, as our featured speaker.
….EMPTY THE WAY THE UNIVERSE IS EMPTY
Fiona Heath, Ministerial Candidate
This service explores the mystery at the centre of Unitarian Universalism. What does it mean if the chalice is empty? Join Fiona for reflection and an extended meditation.
STEPPING INTO FREEDOM
Melina Bundy
Service Leader: Mag Horman
Music: Rhoda Riemer
From the front lines of activism in war-torn Vietnam to worldwide prominence as a Buddhist teacher, every step of Thich Nhat Hanh’s 80+ years of life has been for peace and the dharma. Melina Bondy, of the Unitarian Congregation of Guelph, met his teachings seven years ago and they have transformed her life to the point that she is preparing to leave Canada in the fall to undergo the discernment process for ordination as a Buddhist nun. In this service, hear about Nhat Hanh's life, Melina's encounter with this great teacher and experience elements of the practice for yourself.
PROCRASTINATION - OR WHY I NEVER GOT AROUND TO WRITING THIS SERMON
Rev. Jessica Purple Rodela
Music: Mag Horman
In this interactive sermon, YOU pick the topics. Come with your questions for Rev. Jess when we put our time-cherished doctrine of “freedom of the pulpit” and “freedom of the pew” into action.
