THOSE DIFFICULT WORDS - "PRAYER"

Rev. Felicia Urbanski

This is a new sermon series for me, one that is based on a model that I've seen successfully implemented by several UU ministerial colleagues. My goal is to explore some of those difficult religious words with you for at least one Sunday each month – words which you may have rejected long ago on your own spiritual journey, or words which you may find are just simply puzzling. What is prayer, anyway? To whom does one pray? How can this make any sense to Unitarians?

CHALICE CIRCLES AND SMALL GROUP MINISTRY

Rev. Felicia Urbanski

Chalice circles are said to be about the business of "changing the world, ten at a time". What are they all about? Why have them? Intentional small groups who meet to experience deeper human connections are one way that a growing congregation provides people with a continual opportunity for meaningful relationships. Let's explore how this can be possible for more people at First Unitarian! We are hoping to launch some new Chalice Circles in March. Music: Boyd McDonald.

RENEWAL

Rev. Felicia Urbanski

The New Year is a time when many look ahead to making a fresh start. One of our deepest yearnings is to be able to find spiritual renewal when we need it. Howard Thurman reminded us that dreams are part of what allows us to ride out the storms of the present day. Our creative, imaginative enjoyment with what is not yet realized gives us hope, meaning and purpose. What will be your congregation's collective vision for the future?
